“ Keep a flashlight in your glove compartment in case you break down on the side of the road at night. It can be used as an emergency signal if needed.
“ Remember to bring your sunglasses. Driving in direct sunlight not only gives you a headache, but also lowers your visibility because things become too bright.
“ Have a lot of activities and toys for your kids. Keeping them quiet and occupied while your driving will make it so you are able to focus on the road (and not the yelling kids in the back).
“ Avoid Driving in Inclement Weather. If you don’t have to be somewhere when the weather is bad, then don’t go out.
“ Driving can easily wear you down and make you feel exhausted. To help prepare for your trip, make sure to get a good night’s sleep for several nights before leaving on your trip.
“ Obey the speed limit- This will not only reduce the risk of getting a ticket but it will give you more reaction time if an unsafe driver decides to switch lanes without notice.
“ Know Where you are Going. We have gotten lost because we are not exactly sure where we are going and this can easily become dangerous as we have traveled in areas that were not the greatest.
“ Proper footwear is a car safety must. If you wear loose footwear in the car, it could get in the way of the gas or brake and cause a dangerous situation.
“ Always wear your seatbelt. Your airbags won’t help you any if you aren’t properly belted in.
“ We always make sure we have our insurance papers and phone numbers with us just in case of an emergency.
